As some of you know, my beloved ISP was bought by a significantly less-beloved ISP. I didn't immediately jump ship because messing around with your internet connection is a pain and I wanted to give this new company a chance. Plus, honestly, it seemed like cable was going to be more expensive.
Well, in theory, things have been just fine at home. But gads, at work, it's a total pain in the arse. They claim to be super service oriented, but in reality, they seem to be snide nickel and dimers. Feh.
After receiving a snotty response to my email asking them to justify the $390 worth of charges on my company's latest invoice (they claim it's easier to bill me first, then take it off my bill if I don't want the service -- uh yeah, easier in the same way that it is to sign up for a free credit card promotion) I called up TimeWarner and ordered a switch for my home access.
It may be messy to switch. It may mean my email is a little hosed for a while. It may mean that my web site goes down temporarily while I find a better hosting solution.
But it also means a little less money in these bastards pockets.
